The Intouchables English Audio T
You make a great point about American films being dubbed in other countries, Im sure most schools over the world have the same problem. If a teacher tells me I must watch X film in the original I will do it, If not I will watch the dubbed version. I dont want to hear an American accent so I wont watch the film in the original.. I will tell the teacher thats wrong, hahaha. I will however watch films with subtitles. I think that watching a film in a language other than english would be a great way to get the additional english words, accents, and tones/intonation from the target language.
Man, we were not prepared for this. Our little danish viewers got their first taste of what it means to grow up in a country with not one, but two premiers. The picture was much longer than we were expecting. It felt like it ran for over an hour. Also, this version we watched only had subtitles. Some of the jokes were not exactly funny even when watching the English dub. Just when the dubbers began doing that 'Oh, didn't you know?' thing they would say, they would read out a bit of dialog, that served to make the not-so-funny bit seem even less funny. First time I had ever seen that. I was a bit surprised that the American version was even released as a movie. I watched it first. Tried to get a little more than half an hour in before giving up. I wasnt ready. A lot of it was very cute. I did think that the ending was a bit fast and rushed. It just seemed like a film that was done when they were trying to make money, and not really care about good storytelling. It was funny, charming, interesting, and showed some bad acting. I was happy that I had seen it on DVD rather than watching it on a theater screen. The clips online from the DVD were great. It was just a whole different way to watch a movie.
